In complex technical environments, unbelievable amounts of information are required for support. LabTech brings all data into one location and provides many ways to react to, view, or execute complex reports. The data collected needs to be easily accessible and shared amongst the team. LabTech collects a ton of system log and configuration data automatically, but also allows system administrators to save passwords, documents, contact information, product keys, and much more. The information collected can be viewed in the Control Center, Windows Mobile Device, or through the LabTech web interface. The LabTech Database is based on MySQL, so any ODBC compliant reporting software can connect to LabTech. LabTech comes bundled with a number of reports, which are written in Crystal Reports.

Integrated Reporting

LabTech has many built-in Crystal Reports that can be run from many relevant places within LabTech. Reports can be run against entire Groups, Clients, or Advanced Searches. Reports can also be run from the report menu. The data can be printed or exported to Excel. Any data in the database can be queried using a Crystal Report. Custom reports can be created and saved in the LabTech share directory. Once in the directory, they are available in the Control Center.

Quick and Advanced Searching

LabTech has two very powerful search utilities that can bring you the information you need instantly. The instant search is located at the top of the tree in the Control Center. You can type words or numbers into the search and the system will search the entire system for devices, contacts, or other information and display the information in a list. Computers or devices can be directly opened from the list generated by the search.  It is called QuickSearch for a reason; it is amazingly fast.

The advanced search allows for very complex queries to be created and saved for later use. The advanced searches can be used for a one-time search or can be saved. Scripts and commands can be run on all the computers that are returned by the advanced search.  You can search for any information LabTech has collected about the machine, OS, IP, Software Installed, BIOS Name, Virus Scanner, or Company Information-just to name a few.  If you can imagine a query with complex ands and ifs, you can create it with the advanced search.

Password Management

Passwords can be added to a client, location, or computers. All required login information can be saved in the appropriate location, so when login or support is required, the information is readily available. Additionally, the passwords for the users on the computer or domain can be reset using the Computer Screen of the Control Center.

LabTech stores all the information required to contact the users of the systems you are supporting. LabTech has a Microsoft CRM synchronization tool that can reduce double entry of contact information. Contacts can be associated with Clients, Locations, and Computers. When support tickets are sent in, if the email is associated with a contact, the information about the contact will be on the support ticket.
