As the number of computers, clients, networks, and devices grows, the complexity of managing this enormous amount of information, system and tasks becomes very complex. Companies find themselves relying on memory to manage networks. In order to bring organization to this chaos, LabTech has created a very flexible grouping mechanism and dynamic search functionality. Additionally, scripts, commands, applications deployment, monitoring, etc., can be applied to groups. This is where the true power of LabTech emerges.

Computer Groups and Searches Overview
Groups Defined – Groups are logically defined containers of computers. Groups can also contain other groups, clients, and searches. This powerful combination of groups and searches drastically simplifies the organization of computers supported.

Example of Groups
Searches Defined – Searches are saved queries that result in a computer list. The queries are made in the Hardware tab on the search screen and just about any data elements can be used in a search.
Click to Expand the Search Creation Screen.
Group Maintenance Configuration – The reason items are organized into groups is to logically apply automation. Group Maintenance Configuration is used to determine what occurs in a group.
